Pages Read:  4,703

2 Stars:  1
3 Stars:  3
4 Stars:  11
5 Stars:  0

Favorite Book of the Month:
The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kiersten White

As you can see, just because I haven't been blogging doesn't mean I haven't been reading. I did have a reading slump during summer, but I read a few things. October rekindled my need for stories. It is probably because I was in the mood to read spooky books.

I have missed blogging a little bit. I certainly enjoy the community. I don't know what I want to do with my blog right now, but I might post a few things here and there.

Goal Progress:

Goodreads Challenge - I am 16 books behind schedule. 😓 I think I can catch up.(88/125)

Newbery Award Winners - I managed to read one for October. I haven't given up on my goal. (36/101)

Re-Read Books - Nope! (14/20)

Book Club Books - I didn't read the book club book this month because it was one I read a while ago, and I didn't want to re-read it. I've done really well reading my book club books this year. I'm proud of myself. I have to read the next two to hit my goal. (8/10)

I hope you had a successful reading month.
Happy reading!

The Liz Taylor Ring

Author:  Brenda Janowitz

Publisher:  Graydon House

Date Published:  February 1, 2022

Genre:  Adult Fiction, Contemporary

Rating:  ⭐

My Thoughts:

-    Lizzie and Ritchie have a romance for the ages, much like Liz Taylor and Richard Burton, but Ritchie's gambling problem causes trouble in paradise. After a 9 month separation, Ritchie gives Lizzie a big-a diamond ring. It is similar to the one that Burton gifted to Taylor. Flash forward a couple decades and the children of Lizzie and Ritchie all have different stories about what happened to the ring, so no one knows what to think when the ring suddenly shows up again.

-    The story starts out great. I was highly invested in the family and the mystery, but I slowly lost interest. Towards the end, I felt like circumstances and happenings were convenient and unimaginative.

-    I loved all the Elizabeth Taylor references, and I loved Lizzie and Ritchie's relationship.

-    The book made me want to watch all the Elizabeth Taylor movies.

Favorite Book of the Month:
The Audacity of Sara Grayson by Joani Elliott

May wasn't a great reading month for me. It also wasn't a great blogging month. I finished two video games, and those occupied my free time. I've also been watching stuff. I have a lack of motivation to blog lately. Hopefully I will get back into it soon.

Goal Progress:

Goodreads Challenge - I am 4 books ahead of schedule. (55/125)

Newbery Award Winners - I didn't read any, but I have one planned for June. (2/20)

Re-Read Books - Nope! (13/20)

Book Club Books - I managed to read my book club book! Yay! I finished it the day of book club, but I still made it! (5/10)

I hope you had a successful reading month.

Top Ten Books I Was SO EXCITED to Get, but Still Haven't Read

I try not to buy books before I've read them, so I don't have a huge pile of books that haven't been read, but I do make exceptions for certain authors and such. I don't know if I have ten, but here are all the books that I own, but haven't read yet.
