From Goodreads: "The Last Flight of the Harbinger" STARTS NOW! Sgt. Kreel is back with an all-new squad of stormtroopers! Go inside the minds of an elite group of Imperial soldiers! Join incoming artist Jorge Molina for a walk on the dark side!
My Thoughts:
- Cover love!! The storm troopers look awesome!
- I love that this issue shows a different side the story. Some people want order and see storm troopers and law enforcers and not bad guys.
- A storm trooper wielding a lightsaber is AWESOME!
- These are your typical storm trooper. They are actually very accurate shots.
- Great intro to the new story. The artwork is great, and I'm eager for more.
From Goodreads: The Star Destroyer Harbinger, a massive weapon of Imperial war. Also the target of the rebels' new top-secret plan. Join Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Leia Organa for "The Last Flight of the Harbinger"!
My Thoughts:
- Sweet!! A space battle!! It's about time there was one of these. It's always fun to see the Falcon in action!!
- Oi vey! New artwork again! I like the ships and environment a lot, but I'm not sure about the characters. Han and Leia look a little cartoony.
- I love the bantering between Han and Leia. They haven't had that for a while in the series! This story felt more like the movies than some of the previous stuff.
- This was a really fun issue. I loved the battle and the plot.
Goodreads Says: The Rebels have pulled off the impossible…they've stolen a Star Destroyer. But why? To what end? Can they hold her together? And who's in charge of this madness, anyway – Han or Leia?
My Thoughts:
- Interesting cover, I'm not sure I like it or not. I love seeing Han and Leia together, but they just aren't the type of characters that would run through the halls laughing like school kids.
- I'm not digging the cartoony art style of this issue.
- I usually love Han and Leia's bickering, but this was ridiculous!
- Sometimes I feel burnt out on these comics, but then something happens that makes me want to keep reading.
From Goodreads: Sergeant Kreel and SCAR Squad are on board the Harbinger…and they specialize in taking down rebels — hard! Can Luke and company make it off the Star Destroyer alive?
My Thoughts:
- I've never seen storm troopers in such a variety of shapes and sizes.
- When our heroes get into a tight spot or bad situation, I feel like been there, done that. Can we get something new?
- I liked all the action in this issue.
From Goodreads: Rebel crew vs. SCAR Troopers for the fate of the Harbinger! PLUS: An all-new Artoo-Deetoo adventure!
My Thoughts:
- The synopsis for this is like an ad.
- There are a lot of great action moments in this issue! It was really fun.
- There were also some humorous moments that I enjoyed more than I should have.
- Han and Leia floating around in space was too much outside the physics box for me.
- There is a little bonus comic at the end dedicated to Kenny Baker. It was a great little tribute to him. I loved it! *sigh*

Darth Vader #21 - #25
Goodreads Synopsis: Vader takes on Cylo and his cybernetic operatives while the Executor moves closer to completion in time for its launch.
My Thoughts:
- I love seeing the ruthless side of Darth Vader, and this issue delivers.
- If the empire had created an army of droids like Beetee and Triple Zero, they never would have lost to the rebels. Dang those droids are evil!
- I don't like it when they bring old characters back. There are too many characters to keep track of. Who is Cylo?
- This was a good issue that moved the story along.
Small Synopsis From Goodreads: The Executor nears completion while the murderbots take on their "master".
My Thoughts:
- There was an ad in here for a Marvel Tsum Tsum comic. Okay, I love Tsums, but this is ridiculous.
- I don't understand why the bug eyed lady is forcing Vader to fight a Rancor. What the heck is going on?
- Okay, I admit it. Seeing Vader fight the Rancor is pretty awesome.
- There is another ad saying this series ends with issue #25!! I'm almost to the end! I debated quiting the series cause it was getting really long, but I'm glad I stuck with it. It's been fun. I hope the ending is amazing! It better really be the end too, no jokes or extensions!
- Idiot Cylo! You can't kill Darth Vader that easily!
Goodreads Says: Vader vs. Morit on the shell of the Executor! DO YOU NEED MORE THAN THAT??? Fine: Cylo's secret revealed!
My Thoughts:
- I'm starting to remember who Cylo is!
- I love full page panels! They are amazing and really show off the artwork.
- I wish the fight between Morit and Vader had lasted longer
- Anyone else think Cylo is too close to Kylo Ren's name?
- Whoa!!! Cylo's secret is an awesome one!! AH! I can't wait for the next issue!!
From Goodreads: Vader is lost in his inner mindscape, lost in visions of the Force! Is he truly more machine now than man? Or can he fight his way back from the brink?
My Thoughts:
- This issue is a little thicker. I love that comics are a certain price, and they don't change if issues are different sizes.
- I really like the simple cover. Darth Vader's inner turmoil is so interesting to me, and I love reading about it.
- Vader's strength and will power are very impressive. There is a reason he is one of the best villains of all time.
- Aphra has a serious death wish.
From Goodreads: It has all built up to this! Vader's trials against Cylo's creations! His machinations against the Emperor! His covert missions with Doctor Aphra and her murderous droids! All comes to fruition in an ending you can't miss!
My Thoughts:
- Awesome cover!
- The way Vader took down Cylo as the greatest K.O. ever!!!
- This issue was kind of a three in one. I don't understand the last story with the Tuskan Raiders. It was hard to depict what was happening in the panels.
- This was a good last issue. I liked how everything wrapped up. Overall, it was fun series.
- I'm debating about getting the Doctor Aphra series. I don't care for Aphra, but I want to read more about the evil droids.

The Princess Diarist
From Goodreads: The Princess Diarist is Carrie Fisher’s intimate, hilarious and revealing recollection of what happened behind the scenes on one of the most famous film sets of all time, the first Star Wars movie.
When Carrie Fisher recently discovered the journals she kept during the filming of the first Star Wars movie, she was astonished to see what they had preserved—plaintive love poems, unbridled musings with youthful naiveté, and a vulnerability that she barely recognized. Today, her fame as an author, actress, and pop-culture icon is indisputable, but in 1977, Carrie Fisher was just a (sort-of) regular teenager.
With these excerpts from her handwritten notebooks, The Princess Diarist is Fisher’s intimate and revealing recollection of what happened on one of the most famous film sets of all time—and what developed behind the scenes. And today, as she reprises her most iconic role for the latest Star Wars trilogy, Fisher also ponders the joys and insanity of celebrity, and the absurdity of a life spawned by Hollywood royalty, only to be surpassed by her own outer-space royalty. Laugh-out-loud hilarious and endlessly quotable, The Princess Diarist brims with the candor and introspection of a diary while offering shrewd insight into the type of stardom that few will ever experience.

My Thoughts:
- This was a fun book that I just couldn't put down. It was made even more poignant from Carrie Fisher's passing. She will be missed very much!
- I love how open and honest Carrie is. Her writing was full of charm, humor, and personality. I smiled and laughed at stories, paragraphs, and small simple sentences.
- Carrie perfectly describes how any fan girl would act and feel when meeting Harrison Ford. I'd also be intimidated and shy while trying to come up with something clever to say.
- I wish the diary entries were copies or photos of the originals so we could see Carrie's handwriting.
- There is a lot of profanity.
- I was surprised at how much of the book was focused on Harrison Ford. I'd heard about the affair on social media and the news, but I didn't realize most of the book was about Fisher's thoughts and feelings about the whole ordeal and about Harrison in general. I have a lot of mixed feelings about their affair. I don't want to share them publicly, but I will say that I love Carrie's attitude and feelings about it 40 years later.
- I really liked when Carrie talked about her parents and her relationship with Hollywood.
- This was such a great book, and I'm sad Carrie wasn't able to write about her experiences with Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Rebel Angels
Goodreads Synopsis: Ah, Christmas! Gemma Doyle is looking forward to a holiday from Spence Academy, spending time with her friends in the city, attending ritzy balls, and on a somber note, tending to her ailing father. As she prepares to ring in the New Year, 1896, a handsome young man, Lord Denby, has set his sights on Gemma, or so it seems. Yet amidst the distractions of London, Gemma's visions intensify. Visions of three girls dressed in white, to whom something horrific has happened, something only the realms can explain. . . .
The lure is strong, and before long, Gemma, Felicity, and Ann are turning flowers into butterflies in the enchanted world of the realms that Gemma alone can bring them to. To the girl's great joy, their beloved Pippa is there as well, eager to complete their circle of friendship.
But all is not well in the realms or out. The mysterious Kartik has reappeared, telling Gemma she must find the Temple and bind the magic, else great disaster will befall her. Gemma is willing to do his intrusive bidding, despite the dangers it brings, for it means she will meet up with her mother's greatest friend and now her foe, Circe. Until Circe is destroyed, Gemma cannot live out her destiny. But finding Circe proves a most perilous task.

My Thoughts:
- This is a rare occurrence where I enjoyed the second book more than the first. I liked the first book a lot, but this one was a step up.
- This story is the perfect mash up of Victorian young ladies worried about their social standings and dangerous magical realms. It is so cleverly put together. I love it!
- I was able to figure out certain plot points, but I was still intrigued and surprised. The story telling is really well done.
- I love how vivid and visual this book is. It was so easy to get lost in Gemma's world.
- The characters are all complex, and enjoy reading about each one. Felicity is such a brat and very annoying at times, but she has redeemable qualities, and Gemma really needs a go getter like her. I like quiet and uncertain Ann, but I wish her character could develop a bit more confidence.
- This series is so underrated. It deserves more attention and love. I wish I hadn't waited so long to read these.

Fan Art Friday: Coraline
I tried to find artwork that wasn't inspired by the movie. There was a lot of pictures to sift through, but I found a great collection.
My favorite is the last one. I love how the other mother is lurking behind Coraline as she is looking through the stone. I also love that the cat in is the picture.
Which is your favorite?
