My Thoughts:
- I picked this up because some of Sara Teasdale's poems were in Falling For You, and I wanted to read more.
- I've never read a book of poems before. This was an interesting and enlightening experience for me.
- There is something beautiful about Teasdale's way with words.
- Not all of the poems made sense of spoke to me. Most of them were eh, but some of them really spoke to me, and there was everything in between.
- Some of my favorite poems were Guenevere, A Winter Night, I Shall Not Care, The Unseen, If Death is Kind, Thoughts, and Alone.
Poetry and I don't get along and when we do I sadly am a bit fickle. I never remember or appreciate the good ones. Sigh!
ReplyDeleteI'm like Jenny. Poetry and I don't get a long. For me, though, it's because they're not explicit in their meaning. It's like lyrics in a song. I often can't tell what the meaning/subject of a song or a poem is because there's too much symbolism, creativity, or subtlety. It has to be pointed out to me. As you know, I'm not a subtle person, lol.
