Darth Vader #21 - #25

30372469Goodreads Synopsis:    Vader takes on Cylo and his cybernetic operatives while the Executor moves closer to completion in time for its launch.

My Thoughts:

-    I love seeing the ruthless side of Darth Vader, and this issue delivers.

-    If the empire had created an army of droids like Beetee and Triple Zero, they never would have lost to the rebels. Dang those droids are evil!

-    I don't like it when they bring old characters back. There are too many characters to keep track of. Who is Cylo?

-    This was a good issue that moved the story along.

30810420Small Synopsis From Goodreads:    The Executor nears completion while the murderbots take on their "master".

My Thoughts:

-    There was an ad in here for a Marvel Tsum Tsum comic. Okay, I love Tsums, but this is ridiculous.

-    I don't understand why the bug eyed lady is forcing Vader to fight a Rancor. What the heck is going on?

-    Okay, I admit it. Seeing Vader fight the Rancor is pretty awesome.

-    There is another ad saying this series ends with issue #25!! I'm almost to the end! I debated quiting the series cause it was getting really long, but I'm glad I stuck with it. It's been fun. I hope the ending is amazing! It better really be the end too, no jokes or extensions!

-    Idiot Cylo! You can't kill Darth Vader that easily!

31181169Goodreads Says:    Vader vs. Morit on the shell of the Executor! DO YOU NEED MORE THAN THAT??? Fine: Cylo's secret revealed!

My Thoughts:

-    I'm starting to remember who Cylo is!

-    I love full page panels! They are amazing and really show off the artwork.

-    I wish the fight between Morit and Vader had lasted longer

-    Anyone else think Cylo is too close to Kylo Ren's name?

-    Whoa!!! Cylo's secret is an awesome one!! AH! I can't wait for the next issue!!

31415519From Goodreads:    Vader is lost in his inner mindscape, lost in visions of the Force! Is he truly more machine now than man? Or can he fight his way back from the brink?

My Thoughts:

-    This issue is a little thicker. I love that comics are a certain price, and they don't change if issues are different sizes.

-    I really like the simple cover. Darth Vader's inner turmoil is so interesting to me, and I love reading about it.

-    Vader's strength and will power are very impressive. There is a reason he is one of the best villains of all time.

-    Aphra has a serious death wish.

32594942From Goodreads:    It has all built up to this! Vader's trials against Cylo's creations! His machinations against the Emperor! His covert missions with Doctor Aphra and her murderous droids! All comes to fruition in an ending you can't miss!

My Thoughts:

-    Awesome cover!

-    The way Vader took down Cylo as the greatest K.O. ever!!!

-    This issue was kind of a three in one. I don't understand the last story with the Tuskan Raiders. It was hard to depict what was happening in the panels.

-    This was a good last issue. I liked how everything wrapped up. Overall, it was fun series.

-    I'm debating about getting the Doctor Aphra series. I don't care for Aphra, but I want to read more about the evil droids.

Darth Vader Annual #1 and Darth Vader #16 - #20

28225467Goodreads Synopsis:    It is a time of unrest. After the fall of the Republic, the Galactic Empire took over with an iron fist. Yet the Empire does not stand unchallenged as the rebels continue to fight back

The destruction of the Death Star has ignited faith that the Rebellion will prevail, but the Emperor is determined to eliminate any and all threats. As more and more planets fall under Imperial control, Lord Vader travels to Shu-torun with a message to reinforce their cooperation....

My Thoughts:

-    This issue introduces a new planet and people. It is pretty neat.

-    Interesting story, I'm not sure what to think of it. Hopefully we get more from future Darth Vader issues. I don't want to wait for once a year comics!

-    I feel so bad for Trio.

-    I can't get over these evil droids. They are too much fun!

29056624From Goodreads:    New story arc! The planet Shu-Torin, (introduced in the Darth Vader Annual), is revolting. Darth Vader is tasked with leading a military assault. Has Vader's rise to glory begun?

My Thoughts:

-    This issue picks up right after the Darth Vader Annual comic. Why did they need to make a Darth Vader Annual? Couldn't that have been #16? So weird!

-    Looks like Vader is finally getting back into the Emperor's good graces.

-    Trio is acting pretty calm considering all the crap Vader is putting her through. I hope she is planning a major revenge scheme.

Darth Vader #17From Goodreads:    Would you follow Darth Vader into war? Better that than to be against him. A lesson the Ore Barons are about to learn...

My Thoughts:

-    Not a lot of thoughts on this one.

-    I'm hoping Aphra gets back into the game, and I hope Vader still has his own agenda he is working on.

29741476Goodreads Says:    With resources vital to the Empire on the line, Vader makes his move...but Cylo and his forces are looking to show him up before he can! Full-scale warfare on the surface of Sho-Turun!

My Thoughts:

-    Not a lot to say about this one as well.

-    This issue mostly setup some plot points for future issues.

29908816
From Goodreads:    The Shu-Torun War concludes! Will Vader bring the Ore Barons in line? Or will Cylo and his warriors show the Dark Lord how it's done?

My Thoughts:

-    I really doubt all of this happened between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back. When is the series going to tie back into the original story line?

-    I'm not sure how long I'll continue this series. I like it when the story runs more parallel the Star Wars comics like it did in the beginning.

-    I think Triple Zero and Beetee need their own series.

30168368Goodreads Says:    New Story Arc! "END OF GAMES" begins this issue! Inspector Thanoth returns with some startling information. Vader may have passed his master's tests...but will his own schemes prove his undoing? PLUS: A bonus tale of Triple-Zero and Beetee!

My Thoughts:

-    I enjoy the exchanges between Vader and the Emperor. They are very interesting.

-    The little side Beetee and Triple Zero story was awesome!

Darth Vader #11 - #15 and Vader Down #1

28585877Goodreads Says:    It is a period of foreboding. After the destruction of the Death Star by a Force-strong rebel pilot, the Sith Lord DARTH VADER has taken it upon himself to discover the pilot's true identity under the Empire's ever-watchful eye.

Using the expertise of droid archaeologist DR. APHRA and her lethal droids BT-1 and 0-0-0, Vader looted a stash of credits from an Imperial cruiser, making it look like an accident. Aphra, using the stolen credits, located Commodex Tahn, the mortician who oversaw Senator Amidala's burial, and confirmed Vader's suspicions about the rebel pilot.

However, Vader's new adjutant Inspector Thanoth knows that all is not what it seems and plans to investigate further. Thanoth has discovered the location of an information broker called THE ANTE and has created a strike force to bring him down....

My Thoughts:

-    The scenes by the fire are so great. I love the lighting and shadows in these panels.

-    I can't get enough of these evil droids! They are so hilarious and awesome!

-    Vader is in a tight bind. How is he getting out of this mess?

-    Aphra is SO dead! Vader is going to kill her.

28585887Goodreads Synopsis:    It is a time of unrest. After the Death Star was destroyed by an X-wing pilot, the Sith Lord DARTH VADER has been eager to track down the Force-strong rebel responsible.

Vader's adjutant Inspector Thanoth located THE ANTE, an information broker he suspects has crucial knowledge regarding stolen Imperial credits. Droid archaeologist DR. APHRA to the The Ante first and buys from him the location of Luke Skywalker, the pilot responsible for the Death Star's demolition.

Darth Vader and Thanoth arrive just in time to discover that Aphra is the one who stole the mission's credits. They also manage to get the location of the Plasma Devils from The Ante before the information broker is killed. Aphra nearly escapes, but Darth Vader and Thanoth now have her cornered....

My Thoughts:

-    Sweet cover!

-    I can't believe Vader just sweet talked himself out of his predicament. Lame!

-    Thanoth isn't as bright as I thought he was. I'm really disappointed.

-    This issue left me with a lot to think about.

-    I still think Aphra is going to die.

-    I'm SO excited for the Vader Down crossover!! Woo! I kinda wish they had released the Vader Down separately, but I'm still excited for Star Wars and Darth Vader to mingle.

27853424From Goodreads:    When Darth Vader accidentally finds himself facing off against the Rebel Fleet on his own, the rebels will learn the true strength of the Dark Side of the Force! Once Vader crashes on a nearby planet, the Rebellion is willing to risk everything for this once-in-a-lifetime chance to take out one of their biggest enemies! Luke! Vader! Leia! Aphra! Han! Chewie! And all manner of Droid, good and evil!

My Thoughts:

-    I think it is weird how the mingled the Vader Down series into the Darth Vader and Star Wars series. I like that they crossover, but I don't like how they are treating Vader Down as it's own series as well.

-    Artwork looks different. I love it!

-    I always hear about how Anakin was an amazing pilot, but I've never actually seen his amazing flying skills, til now! Holy Cow! That was awesome!

-    The layouts and action are SO great! This is one of the best issues I've read! Beautiful artwork and amazing stuff going on.

-    OMG! Luke has a lot of guts!

-    Vader really shines in this issue! We finally get to see how powerful he really is, and I love that he isn't holding back.

27970272Goodreads Says:    The first crossover of Star Wars' new Marvel age continues here! Vader vs. all the Rebels...it's not a fair fight!

My Thoughts:

-    I LOVE THIS COVER!! Seriously, just take a moment to ooh and aah over that cover.

-    I know I keep asking this, but why is Aphra so loyal to Vader? I just don't get it. I think by now she is just scared for her life.

-    Vader is the bad guy you want to cheer for. I love seeing him use the force to take out armies! So much fun!

28278193
Goodreads Says:    VADER DOWN PART FOUR Han & Luke take on Vader's forces...and more? Meanwhile, Leia makes a hard decision. Marvel's first Star Wars event continues here!

My Thoughts:

-    Why doesn't it say Vader Down 4 of 6 on the cover? I got a bit confused about which issue I needed to read next!

-    Ha! C3PO is SO useless!

-    I like that there is a bit of humor among the action.

-    This issue introduced some new players, like there wasn't enough people to fight already. Yeesh!

Darth Vader #15Goodreads Synopsis:    VADER DOWN CONCLUSION Luke Skywalker- captured by the Empire! Darth Vader- beset by enemies on all sides! The finale of the biggest Marvel Star Wars story yet!

My Thoughts:

-    The synopsis is right on! Lucas should have been letting Marvel write for him a long time ago!

-    Just when I think he is useless, C3PO does something surprising.

-    Yes! GO LEIA!

-    This was a fun conclusion to Vader Down! I loved that all the characters got their moment to shine! Fun Fun Fun!
