Fan Art Friday

Like so many people, I am truly saddened by the passing of Gail Halvorsen, a.k.a. The Candy Bomber and Uncle Wiggly Wings. I can only imagine the celebration he received in heaven. I'm sure it was amazing. He was definitely one of those "good and faithful servants."

Col. Halvorsen is my dad's hero, so I grew up hearing stories about the famous Candy Bomber. Once you get him going, my dad could talk about Col. Halvorsen for forever, and there will always be tears involved. 

When I got the news of The Candy Bomber's death, I called my dad right away to tell him. He was heartbroken. As we talked, I could hear his sniffles, and I knew he was trying to hold back tears. My dad just kept saying how much he did for America and Germany, and how much he helped heal our relations. Gail Halvorsen has left quite a legacy. 

I didn't know if I could find any fan art, but I was able to find a couple pieces. Enjoy!

This was created by Garth Glazier. I love the iconic picture of Gail Halvorsen and the colorful candy falling from the sky. Glazier goes through a step by step guide on how he created this piece. It is really cool.

Since Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I wanted to highlight my literary crush, and one of my favorite book couples. Honestly they are some of my favorite book characters period.

This beautiful piece of art can be found at ArtStation. The artist is Hillary Bardin. I love this piece because it is lovely and captures one of my favorite scenes from Poison Study.

This picture was done by Noukette on Deviant Art. I like how Valek and Yelena are looking at each other. I think it captures their personalities perfectly.

My favorite part of a kiss, is the moment right before the lips meet. The moment of anticipation is delicious. This gorgeous drawing used to be on Deviant Art, but I could only find it on Pinterest. I think the author had it on her blog once as well. Sadly, I don't know who the artist is.

This drawing was done by DR4eva on Deviant Art. I love how deadly Valek and Yelena look.

Again, I couldn't find the artist for this one. I found it on Pinterest, but I couldn't find a source. I love how Valek and Yelena are holding personal items, and this is pretty close to how I picture the characters in my head.

Fan Art Friday is a feature I used to do before I took my long hiatus. I loved the posts, but they didn't get a lot of love in return. I have debated about bringing it back, and I decided that if I love it, then I should do it. 

Today I am featuring the one and only

Betty White

This artwork is from Pixels. You can order a print or a variety of other things, like mugs, pillows, shirts, etc. I really like the style and colors.

Not only is this artwork well done and amazing, but how can you not love Betty White as a Power Ranger!? This was done by Blake Armstrong, and you can purchase it at Spaceboy Comics.

I like zombies, so I thought this was fun. You can find it on Etsy.

One of my favorite things about Betty White was that she was an animal lover and advocate. I tried to find a piece where she is with a variety of animals, but instead I found this piece with her and a bunch of dogs, and it says, "Thank you for being a friend." I love it! This one also came from Etsy.

Betty White is such a national treasure. She will be missed, but I'm happy she has finally retired and moved on to something greater. Goodbye Betty, thanks for all the laughs. 

P.S. I'm not sure if the first two stores are legit. I've never bought anything from them before, so consider yourself warned.
