Getting to Know You: Composers

This feature is hosted by Jenni! Each week she'll prompt us to list stuff we love.
This week's prompt is:

Favorite Composers

#1 Most Favorite Composer

I LOVE Danny Elfman! I will purchase any movie soundtrack that has his name on it.
It is no secret that I'm a Tim Burton fan, and I just love that Danny Elfman always does the music for his movies. It was a match made in heaven. I also love that Danny Elfman wrote the Batman theme! Oh ya!

#2 Most Favorite Composer

Joe Hisaishi is the composer for most of Hayoa Miyazaki's films. I love the music in these movies. The music is so beautiful and fun. If you haven't seen a Miyazaki movie yet, you are missing out! It is my dream to get my band to play a Joe Hisaishi piece.

#3 Most Favorite Composer

My band geek side is about to show. Gustav Holst wrote some of my favorite band pieces EVER! I love 2nd Suite in F. It SO SO fun to play! I also love his 1st Suite.

#4 Most Favorite Composer

George Gershwin is AMAZING!! Someday I'm going to be able to play Rhapsody & Blue.

The rest are in no particular order:

Hans Zimmer cause he is awesome!

Who doesn't like John Williams? If you like movies, you like John Williams.

Frank Ticheli writes some really amazing things for band as well.

Howard Shore because LORD OF THE RINGS!

Getting to Know You: TV Shows

This feature is hosted by Jenni! Each week she'll prompt us to list stuff we love.
This week's prompt is:

My Favorite TV Shows

This changes all the time because it is usually what I'm currently watching.
These shouldn't be a surprise since I'm a total Geek.

Currently:

I watched the first two seasons on Netflix, and I've been a devoted and diligent fan ever since.

Yup, I'm a Oncer! I've watched all the episodes on Netflix 2-3 times, and I always tune in on Sunday. Plus, I kinda have a little crush on Hook.

I'm a total Sherlockian! I love this show!!! Each episode has me glued to the edge of my seat. I laugh, I gasp, and I crave! Best of all is that I'm always surprised! I need the 4th season NOW!!!

Hubby and I are watching Continuum on Netflix right now. I'm hooked, but I wish it was more sci-fi and less crime/cop show. I think season 4 is going right now,
but we are only on season 2.

Ended and Gone:

Yes I'm counting this!!! It is a BBC mini-series for TV, so I'm adding this!!
I LOVE NORTH AND SOUTH!

I'm really attached to Stargate SG-1. I love the characters and cast. I've watched all 10 seasons multiple times, and I'll probably watch it again in the future.

Same goes for this spin off. I loved it, seen it multiple times, and will watch again.
I'm still hoping for the movie (fingers crossed).

I am a die hard fan of the old 90s X-Men cartoon! It is were my love for Marvel started.
It is also were I fell in love with Gambit.

Don't even get me started on how epic this cartoon is! Kevin Conroy will ALWAYS be Batman to me, and no one will replace Mark Hamill's Joker.

This show is hilarious! I love Phil Hartman, and I'm still so sad he is gone. I also love Dave Foley in this show. The cast is great, and their interactions are hilarious!

First season is my favorite, and it is all I practically watch, but I do like the rest of the seasons, but it gets a bit perverted. I love to quote this show!

Honorable Mentions:

Tiny Toons
Animaniacs
Looney Toons
Talespin
DuckTales
Parenthood
Firefly

Getting to Know You: Animals

This feature is hosted by Jenni! Each week she'll prompt us to list stuff we love.
This week's prompt is:

My Favorite Animals

This will be hard to narrow down because I'm a HUGE animal lover!
I prefer animals to human beings.

#1 absolute favorite animal in the whole wide world is the red panda!!
They are the cutest things!! I want one so bad!

The rest are in no particular order.

I'm a big dog lover! This is my doggy Chewy!

I love anything in the canine family, so yes to foxes and wolves.

I have a soft spot for hamsters. This is my baby boy, Mr. Nibbles.
His death anniversary is coming up this month. Thinking of him still brings tears to my eyes.
We had a special bond.

I love all rodents! This is Sally, our rat. She was like a mini dog. She knew her name, and she came when we called or whistled. She had the cutest personality!

I think Platypuses are the funniest and most interesting creature.
They are also pretty darn cute!

Aw
I grew up on a farm, and I raised lambs. I have a soft spot for little black faced lambs.
We kept them as pets, and I raised them from babies. I loved bottle feeding my lamb every day.

We had chickens, and one time when we were buying new baby chicks the store had ducklings. I begged my dad for one, and to my mom's chagrin, he bought me a cute little yellow fluff. It grew into a white duck, and I loved him. My sister also got one. We loved our ducks and filled a small pool for them to swim.

My grandpa and uncles had horses. I loved one in particular, his name was Colorado (he didn't look anything like the one pictured). He was so gentle. He was my favorite to ride. I think horses are go beautiful and majestic. They can be so loving and loyal. They say dog is man's best friend, and I believe it, but I've also known some pretty great horses.

I love all the varieties of bears. They are so cute and fuzzy! I love pandas and polar bears the best.

Elephants are so fascinating to me. I love how they organize family units, and they mourn for each other. They even visit grave sites of those who have died.

I've wanted a wombat ever since I was small. They are SO cute! Look at that face!
I also love their hard rumps.

Who doesn't love big cats? They are so cool! I can't really peg which one is my favorite. I like tigers, the lynx, and panthers a lot.

I love turtles and tortoises! I think they are fun and cute. I want one!

Otter Wallpaper HD
Otters are SO cute!!! I love how they float on their backs, and I love it when they hold hands while floating on their backs. They are so playful and fun and cute and and and . . .

I could talk about animals all day, but I'll stop here!
If I could have a safe haven for all the creatures on Earth, I would.

Getting to Know You: Games

This latest feature is hosted by Jenni! Each week she'll prompt us to list stuff we love.
This week's prompt is:

My Favorite Games

I wish this was split between video games and board games. I have a lot of favorites!
I'm going to split them anyway.

Video Games:

I love all the Kirby Games! From the original on the NES to the latest one with yarn!

Pikmin 2 is an AMAZING game! It will always be one of my most favorite games to play.
I also enjoyed Pikmin 3. I hope they make more.

Dynasty Warriors 4 on the Xbox was awesome! I put WAY too many hours into this game.
I loved leveling up my characters and weapons.

There will never be a game that compares to Gears of War 2.
This game gave me such a rush!
It is the reason we bought a 360.

I love the Mario franchise. I buy and play all the Mario Karts, Smash Brothers, Mario Parties, etc. I always play as Luigi.

The Batman Arkham games are AWESOME!! The gameplay is phenomenal, but what I really geek out about is the voice acting! Kevin Conroy!!! Mark Hamill!!!

I love the Ultimate Alliance games! It is another game I put WAY too many hours into.
I've replayed both of them several times.

I like the Lego games a lot. I loved Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman. I also enjoyed Lego Star Wars a lot. I prefer these on the Xbox 360. I think the controls and gameplay are better. Plus you get achievements. I haven't played any of the newer Lego games because I haven't made peace with the Legos talking yet.

I could go on, but lets get to the board games!

Board/Card Games:

Settlers of Catan: Cities and Knights
My hubby and I play this every weekend with our best friends.

Ticket to Ride
This is also played every weekend with the same friends.

Phase 10
Love getting each phase done!

Disney Triva Pursuit
I wish people liked to play this with me. Sometimes my family will, but people usually don't like to play this with me cause I win. I love Disney trivia of any kind.

Star Wars Trivial Pursuit DVD
I love to test my geekines against others!

Taboo is really fun.
This game occasionally makes an appearance on the weekend with our friends.

We don't own this, and I don't know someone who does, but I love playing this! I should buy it so I can play more often.

Sorry this post was so long, but I love gaming it up!
