What would you like to see on my blog?

My Thoughts:

-    I feel like my blog is a bit on the boring side, and I want to know what kind of posts you'd like to see? Do you want more personal posts, memes, giveaways, random thoughts, reviews, etc.?

-    Would you like to see more events? I'm going to co-host a couple read-a-longs coming up, and I plan on doing Utah Book Month.

-    Just tell me what you want! What am I lacking? Bloggiesta is next week, and I'd like to know how to improve my blog.

Do you like the book descriptions copied from

Goodreads, or do you prefer the blogger to write their 

own synopsis of the book?

-    I've been thinking of writing my own synopsis for books on my blogs, but I don't know if it really matters to my readers. 

-    I might have a hard time trying to describe the book without spoilers, but I'm kinda excited for the challenge.

Personally, I love them both, but new books are my favorite! There is nothing better than sniffing a brand new book!

How do you choose books in your book club?

My Thoughts:

-    I started a book club a few months ago, and I have a few new readers in the group.  Each month they come and I ask for suggestions, but since they don't really know what is out there, I am the one who usually pulls out some book options for the month, and we decide from my choices.  I feel like it is unfair for me to choose the book each month, so I was wondering how choosing books goes in other book clubs.

Where are some odd places you've caught yourself reading?

Has anyone caught you in these strange places?

My Thoughts:

-    I will open a book and read a page while stopped at a red light.  I try to be aware of when the light turns green, but I've been honked at before.

-    I have also taken my book into a bathroom stall at work because I was dying to finish!!

-    This one isn't too strange, but I take a book to the gym with me to read on the treadmill.

How much of a book do you read before you quit?

What makes you quit a book before finishing?

My Thoughts:

I try to give a book a good sporting chance before quitting, so I made a rule to read at least 100 pages before allowing myself to put the book down forever.  I feel like that is ample time for the author to get over the boring stuff and captivate me.  

I usually quit a book if it is super boring, I can't stand the characters, I think the book is dumb, or if I don't understand what the heck is going on.
