Top Ten New-to-Me Authors I Discovered in 2021
I didn't think I read too many new authors last year, but after perusing through my Goodreads list, I discovered I read more than I thought. Woohoo!
Awesome list! I've only read The Flatshare, but a lot of these are on my TBR. I'm also reading more diversely. It's such an eye-opening experience for me.
ReplyDeleteI love the flood of diverse books. I have never felt so represented.
DeleteI'm so glad. :) I know that's a big deal for you and you should feel represented and so should your girls!
DeleteI love this! :)) Glad that you discovered Jenny Han last year. She was one of my favorite contemporary YA authors in high school and I am looking forward to revisiting her books soon.

Thanks! I think I would have appreciated Jenny Han more if I was younger, but I still enjoyed the books.
DeleteI have not read any of the authors on your list--which means I have more books to explore! Yay! I have Chlorine Sky on my TBR pile and look forward to reading it. Jenny Han is an author I have been wanting to try and Beth O'Leary. Her name seems to be everywhere in the past couple of years. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI hope you can get to these books soon, and I hope you like them.
DeleteI've been wanting to read The Flatshare & The Giver of Stars! My TTT
ReplyDeleteYou should! They are both SO good!
DeleteBeth O'Leary is on my list, I NEED to make time to read her this year! Thanks for sharing. https://cindysbookcorner.blogspot.com/2022/01/top-ten-tuesday-helpbookish-questions.html

ReplyDeleteI was really late in reading a Jojo Moyes book. Ha ha! I'm glad I started with Giver of the Stars.
DeleteGreat list! I enjoyed Sourdough, what a unique little book. And I want to read The Flatshare!
ReplyDeleteRight!? Sourdough was so weird and good. I hope you enjoy Flatshare.
DeleteI didn't even notice until after I made my list today that all the authors on there were white American women. Not very diverse! That's who usually writes the genres I like, but I do need to branch out a little...
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
There are a lot more diverse authors now. I'm sure there is something out there that you'd really like.
DeleteGlad you discovered Jenny Han. YES! I am curious about Gloria Chao. Adding to my list!
ReplyDeleteIt was an interesting story. I didn't care for the romance, but I found the subject intriguing.
