Top Ten Books Too Good
To Review Properly
I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggles to write reviews for books that are phenomenal. It is hard when a book is SO good, but you can't describe why. Books that are disappointments are easier to write about.
I was able to dig up some old reviews on some of the books. I promise my reviews are not accurate on how I feel about these books.
I read The Chronical of Prydain years ago. That a great series.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a series from my youth. My brother loved Lloyd Alexander, and he passed that on to me. The series is very sentimental to me.
DeleteI will have to see if I agree with The Book Thief when I finally read it!
ReplyDeleteIt is one of the best books I've ever read! I hope you enjoy it.
DeleteGood picks. I agree with The Book Thief, Anxious People, and Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man. The only one that made my list this week was Anxious People, though.
ReplyDeleteAnxious People for the win!
DeleteOh the Hobbit. That would be kinda tough to review.
ReplyDeleteRight!? My brother read The Hobbit to me when I was younger, and I have a major attachment to it that I can't describe.
DeleteSome books are really hard to write about! I think that's why I started writing haiku reviews instead. ;D
ReplyDeleteI love your haikus!
DeleteWe have some of the same on our lists! I almost put Illuminae but when I read my review I thought... dang... not bad... lol!
ReplyDeleteI should go back and read mine. I feel like there are no words to describe the adventure and style of the book.
DeleteI really need to get to Anxious People. I've heard it's so good.
ReplyDeleteIt is!! It was my favorite book last year.
DeleteIt's unusual for me not to have ANY words about a book. My problem is that I just never seem to have the RIGHT ones to describe exactly how I feel. I often end up writing a string of adjectives in an effort to say all the things. LOL.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
Me too! I can think of some words, but I feel like they are inadequate.
DeleteI agree with so many of these, The Book Thief, The Hobbit, A.J. Fikry! Happy reading. My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/books-too-good-to-review-properly/
ReplyDeleteYou have good taste!
DeleteSometimes all I want to write is "read it now." I loved The Book Thief and The Hobbit was so much fun. I loved Zevin's book too. I haven't read the others although Illuminae and Anxious People are both on my TBR. This is a great list, Kami. I'll have to check out the titles I'm not familiar with.
ReplyDeleteThank you! You have great taste in books.
DeleteAll I ever manage for The Hobbit is "It's amazing, just read it!"
ReplyDeleteRight!? The Hobbit was a big part of my childhood reading, and it is nostalgic and sentimental for me.
DeleteOh yes to The Hobbit and The Book Thief. I didn't even try to review those two. ;) I still need to read Illuminae and Anxious People, which I just picked up! Great list!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope you love Illuminae and Anxious People.
