Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Vol 11-12

16071859Goodreads Says:    Mamoru  is leaving to study in the US?! Even though Chibi Usa is back in the thirtieth century, fate won't leave Usagi lonely! An even younger pink-haired munchkin has arrived: Chibi Chibi, a mysterious little lady of few words. At the same time, three gorgeous pop stars enroll at Juban High School.

My Thoughts:

-    They used the word "uterus" in an attack yell!?!?

-    I don't understand what power lets some of the guardians switch genders. They can go back and forth at will.

-    I'm confused about Mamo-chan. What happened to him?

-    There are way too many guardians now. Nine was too many, and not it is just ridiculous.

-    Just when we get rid of Chibi-Usa, here comes Chibi-Chibi. Who is she?

16071860From Goodreads:    Sailor Galaxia's power can melt cities and kill Sailor Senshi in a flash. Can Kaguya and the Sailor Stars help Sailor Moon defeat her? With her friends and allies vanishing around her, what will Usagi have left to fight for?

My Thoughts:

-    Hooray! The last volume! It is slightly longer than the others.

-    To be honest, I just sped through this trying to get to the end. I wasn't really into it. I just wanted the series to end!

-    The majority of the volume was the enemy monologuing and Sailor Moon monologuing. Blah blah blah! I was so sick of it!

-    The series is too long. I should have ended sooner.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Vol 9-10

13643021From Goodreads:    Amidst the chaos caused by Usagi and Chibi-Usa's body swap, courtesy of the Amazoness PallaPalla, the Sailor Guardians' primary concern remains Mamoru's illness and its possible link to the newcomers in town, the Dead Moon Circus. The Amazonesses and their circus animal lackeys go after the Guardians one by one, tempting them with false visions. However, each of the Guardians manage to defeat the enemy after their inner selves shows them their individual heart crystals and new power. Meanwhile, it is still a toss up who the "young maiden" is that Elysion priest Helios seeks: She who shall find and unlock the Golden Crystal that will save Earth, Elysion and Mamoru!

My Thoughts:

-    I wish the author had done more with Usagi and Chibi-Usa switching bodies. It didn't last very long.

-    I like that each guardian is getting their own trial to overcome, but all the trials are the same. I really want each individual guardian to get a moment in the spotlight. They all kind of just blend together and don't do much.

-    The stories and enemies are really repetitive. The manga could have ended sooner.

-    I'd like Chibi-Usa to go home and for everything to just wrap up now.

15732827From Goodreads:    The threat of the Dead Moon Circus is so great that the outer planet Guardians return to fight alongside their compatriots. But with Usagi now coughing up black blood as well, are they too late?

And to make things worse, Queen Nehelenia's servant, Zirconia, casts another curse upon Usagi and Mamoru, sending them both back into childhood. However, Helios whisks away their spirits to Elysion, where they manage to break free and return to their true forms.

After they rejoin their companions, the final showdown against Queen Nehelenia herself begins! Will the Sailor Guardians and Tuxedo Mask manage to save Earth and Elysion before the Queen transforms them into eternal realms of nightmares?

My Thoughts:

-    Sailor Pluto has darker skin in the manga, but when there is a picture of all the guardians, she looks the same as the others. What is up with that?

-    Princess Serenity's birth celebration is just like that famous scene in Sleeping Beauty where Maleficent curses Aurora.

-    This whole time I thought Luna was a boy and Artemis was a girl, but then they turned into humans, and I was wrong. Whoops!

-    Is it done yet? I'm ready for the series to end.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Vol 6-8

12872655Goodreads Says:    Just when all seems well again in the world, another enemy appears. Two new figures from the private school Mugen Academy appear and take a special interest in Sailor Moon and company. Who are they, and do they have anything to do with the strange occurrences that are suddenly taking place? Meanwhile, the appearance of two new Guardians takes everyone by surprise as our favorite Sailor heroes must once again face off against new enemies to save the world.

My Thoughts:

-    The new story line is a little confusing, but that is manga for you.

-    I liked seeing the two new guardians, but they are weird. Will there be a Sailor Saturn? She is the only planet I haven't met.

-    Did Mamo-chan and Usagi get married? Did I miss something?

-    Why can't males be guardians?

13330312From Goodreads:    Old friends and new enemies lurk in the mysteries surrounding Mugen Academy. The Death Busters crave the Hoste, the human energies, of Sailor Moon and her friends--and they’ll prey on the girls’ dreams and weaknesses to get it! Furthermore, prophetic dreams hint of “talismans” that could awaken a “Deity of Destruction.” Could these things be connected to the guardians’ power? And are the Sailor Senshi capable of murdering the innocent to save the entire world?

My Thoughts:

-    The story got all crazy.

-    I don't know if I like the new guardians.

-    I see a lot of similarities between Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon. Were these kinds of things just popular at the time? I still like it.

13533761From Goodreads:    Chibi Usa’s sickly friend Hotaru isn’t just Sailor Saturn, Deity of Destruction. She’s also possessed by Master Pharaoh 90. Facing this cataclysmic power will be impossible--unless Sailor Moon can unite the powers of every Guardian of the Solar System.

Then, when the moon eclipses the sun, a mystical unicorn begs for help. An elaborate ship floats through the sky, and Usagi and Chibi-Usa have trouble seeing eye to eye...

My Thoughts:

-    Hooray! The enemy is finally dead, and I've met all nine planets!

-    I'm not sure if Sailor Saturn is good or bad. I'm guessing there is more about her later.

-    When does Chibi-Usa go home?

-    The last panel was funny, and I'm actually excited to see what happens.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Vol 4-5

11930007From Goodreads:    A new group calling themselves Black Moon is after Usagi and the rest of the Sailor Guardians, wielding a new power known only as the Malefic Black Crystal. Chibi-Usa may be the key to it all, but to find the answers and rescue her kidnapped friends, Usagi will have to journey through time to the 30th century and discover what fate has in store.

My Thoughts:

-    I didn't love the new enemy and story as much as the first one, but it was still fun.

-    There is a lot more freaking out in the volume. Get a grip Sailor Moon!

-    Usagi's relationship with Mamo-Chan has changed a little. It is really weird that she is jealous of a little girl, especially because of who she is.

-    There are SO many things I didn't know about Sailor Moon. I didn't know they time traveled.

12637556Goodreads Says:    Chibi-Usa gets sucked into the far reaches of space-time and vanishes! It’s up to Tuxedo Mask to reach her and get her back safely while Sailor Moon and the others must escape Nemesis and the evil clutches of Wiseman and his cronies. But as Tuxedo Mask travels through the space-time storm, he encounters an ominous woman claiming to be his daughter! Who is this strange woman? Is she really Chibi-Usa?!

My Thoughts:

-    It was good to see Sailor Moon gain confidence and have some character development.

-    The legs are SO long! I think the legs and hair change length from time to time.

-    I really liked Sailor Pluto. She reminds me of Heimdall.

-    Incest!!! EW!

-    The ending to this enemy/story was fun. I liked how time travel was handled, not everyone does time travel well.

-    Does anyone else thing Tuxedo Mask is a stupid name?

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Vol 1 - 3

10862575From Goodreads:    Usagi Tsukino is a normal girl until she meets up with Luna, a talking cat, who tells her that she is Sailor Moon. As Sailor Moon, Usagi must fight evils and enforce justice, in the name of the Moon and the mysterious Moon Princess. She meets other girls destined to be Sailor Senshi (Sailor Scouts), and together, they fight the forces of evil!

My Thoughts:

-    I've always wanted to read the Sailor Moon manga, so I'm excited I finally started.

-    I love that Sailor Moon is a gamer and goes to an arcade after school every day.

-    I'm not okay with 14 year old girls being sexualized. I'm not okay with any girl being sexualized, but it is worse the younger they are. I really wish Usagi and her friends were older.

-    I love Luna. Every great manga has a fun snarky cat.

10912036Goodreads Says:    The mysterious Tuxedo Mask has revealed his identity, forcing Usagi to come to terms with her growing affections for the masked vigilante, all the while defending the people of Earth from renewed attacks by the sinister “enemy”. Everything threatens to overwhelm even Sailor Moon when suddenly a new Sailor Guardian appears. Could this new Guardian be the Moon Princess the Sailor Guardians are sworn to protect?

My Thoughts:

-    Why is Sailor Moon shocked that someone knows who she is? Her clothes don't change much, and she doesn't wear a mask all the time.

-    I think it is hilarious that Usagi is depicted as a bunny when her parents talk about her.

-    I can definitely see how The Lunar Chronicles was influenced by Sailor Moon. Fun Fact: Marissa Meyer wrote Sailor Moon fan fiction before she published a book.

-    A lot about the characters is revealed in this volume. It was very interesting, and I'm enjoying the story.

11251704From Goodreads:    Tuxedo Mask gone bad?! As more of her closest allies fall under the power of the evil Queen Beryl, Usagi comes closer to discovering the truth behind her past. The stage is set for an all-out battle for the fate of Earth between the Sailor Guardians and the forces of evil. But when the dust settles, a little girl calling herself “Usagi” falls from the sky and right into the arms of Mamoru. What is her connection to Sailor Moon and why does she want the Legendary Silver Crystal?

My Thoughts:

-    The first story line finished halfway through this volume. I would have been okay if that was the end of the manga, but I'm glad there is more. I liked the way everything wrapped up.

-    Chibi-Usa? She seems like bad news.

-    I wish the girls were older than 14! They don't act or look like 14 year olds. Plus Sailor Moon found her soul mate. That shouldn't happen at 14.
