Great list! I would've loved to have read Animal Farm with a book club or something; I read it when I was in uni and never wrote a review for it but it was an absolutely intriguing read...
I'm not going to lie, if I have to read Dickens I might freak. I'd be willing to read the others though. Animal Farm might make for a scary discussion. I vote we read it.
I’ve read Animal Farm and The Chosen One. The Chosen One was great and I think that Carol Lynch Williams deals with serious issues in a good manner. I read Animal Farm so long ago that all I remember about it was that I thought it was interesting.
I confess, I'm not a Dickens fan, but I love your other choices! Especially Phantom Tolbooth and Memoirs of the Geisha. Animal Farm would be a good discussion book, too, and I love the look of The One and Only Ivan, though I haven't read it before.

ReplyDeleteThis is a great list. I'd be willing to read most of these, especially Memoirs of a Geisha and The Phantom Tollbooth.
ReplyDeleteMemoirs of a Geisha is FABULOUS!!! I read for a book club years ago... My husband has read The Power of Habit and says it is really good.

Pick your top choices and suggest them at book club next month! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat list! The only one I've read is Phantom Tollbooth but I'll be reading Animal Farm with my son for his Battle of the Books.
