Background Mini Challenge

Ready to change your plain old background into something fun and festive?

Okay!

Step 1

Find a website that gives you free backgrounds.

I use The Cutest Blog on The Block

Others: Hot Bliggity Blog, Dotty Dot Dot

You can use others, there are a bunch out there.

Step 2

Surf the site, and find a background you love. You can usually search by theme. I like to search by seasons and holidays.

MAKE SURE TO GET A 3 COLUMN or WIDE BACKGROUND!
Unless you have a really skinny blog, your blog won't fit on the blank space.

The background will come with a big long code. Copy it.

Step 3

Open your blog and go to your Layout page.

(Sorry Wordpress fans, I'm a blogger user.)

Step 4

Click on Add a Gadget

Find the HTML/JavaScript gadget and click the +

Step 5

When you open it, it should look like this:

Don't give it a title. You don't want your readers to see anything but your background.

Step 6

Remember that big long code you copied? Paste it in the content.

Step 7

Save

Step 8

Move your gadget to the top or the bottom of your gadget list. I put mine at the top.

It doesn't matter where you put it, just get it out of the way.

Step 9

View your blog

TA DA! So pretty!

You should only see a little icon from your gadget.

Bloggiesta Wrap-UP

Well, I had a fun bloggiesta weekend! I met a few new bloggers! I focused a lot more on the social aspect of bloggiesta this time around, and I had a lot of fun. I love meeting new people!

I finished a few goals, and I'm happy with the direction my blog is heading.

After a few Twitter Parties, I decided to post more personal posts and be more picky about which blogs I follow. I'm no longer going to just follow a blog cause it looks pretty. I'm going to try to connect to the person behind the blog! 

Thanks to everyone who stopped by my blog for the first time! I hope we can become great blogger buddies! I will try to visit and comment on your blogs in return!

The End of Bloggiesta

Bloggiesta is officially over!  I didn't accomplish all my goals, but I did get some things done.  It was a productive weekend.

Sunday:

I wrote up some posts and scheduled them for the upcoming week.  I didn't write as many posts as I'd like, but I still got ahead.

Sadly, I didn't get around to adding something cool on my blog.  Maybe sometime in the future I will.

I did another mini-challenge! Woohoo!

Bloggiesta Progress

Friday:

I found my fun Halloween layout!  I love it!  Thanks to everyone who gave me koodos for it!  I appreciate the feedback.

Saturday:

I missed the Friday Twitter Party cause I got on 9:00 PM Mountain Time instead of Easter Time!  Ya...I pulled a retard.  Luckily I fixed the time problem and participated in the Saturday Twitter Party.  I was a bit overwhelmed.  I'm a Newb, and it was my first time on Twitterchat.  I was shocked at how many people were on and how many different chats were happening.  

I went through a bunch of Mini Challenges, and I found some great ideas!  Thanks everyone!  I also entered a couple giveaways.

I spent many many many hours backing up all my blog posts!  Hooray for that being done!!!  Each post has been copied to a Word document, and I created a Roster for all posts on Excel with Dates, Titles, and Authors.  That way I can sort all my posts via column!  I'm going to link each Title to it's correlating Word document, but that is a task for later.  It probably won't get done until the next Bloggiesta.

Bloggiesta Goals

Bloggiesta starts tomorrow and I'm so excited!!  It is my first time participating!!

Here are my goals for the weekend:

-    Add something cool to my blog

-    Create a couple weeks worth of posts

-    Find a cool Halloween layout
-    Participate in a twitter chat
-    Complete some mini challenges

I know it's not a lot, but I thought I'd start small my first time around.

When I first started blogging, a Bloggiesta was going on.  I had no idea what that was, but when I found out, I was sad I missed it.  I am NOT missing out again!  

It is Bloggiesta time!!  At least it will be soon.  Bloggiesta is a weekend where you dedicate some time to work on your blog and catch up on things.  There are mini-challenges and stuff happening, and it is great excuse to spend quality time with your computer and your blog.  Sign ups are going on right now!!
