My Thoughts:

-    This was more of a ghost and vampire steampunk romance than a Beauty and the Beast retelling.

-    I'm not a big vampire fan, but this was alright. I enjoyed the mystery, and the vampires were the bad guys that were hunted, which is where they should be. 

-    The story starts out slow, but it picks up, and the ending is exciting. 

-    I can see the Jane Eyre elements, and I'm not a fan.

-    I didn't care for Lord Blackwell too much, but I liked Lucy well enough.

-    I loved the steampunk and gothic elements. They were fun.

-    I think I liked this overall. I want to read the next book.

My Thoughts:

-    This was a lighter book for this author, and I liked it. It isn't my favorite of hers, but it's good. 

-    Carol Lynch Williams has a very distinct writing style and voice. I love it. There is something soothing and eerie about it. 

-    I love how so much can be said and felt in a few words. 

-    I wish the story had a little more substance. I would love to know more about Evie's family and how the "gifts" came to be. I would have liked to see Evie help more ghosts move on.

-    This was a fun little ghost story.

My Thoughts:

-    I feel like I'm the last person to read this series, but I'm finally doing it!

-    The whole book was setting up the last 100 pages. It was worth all the build up. Wow!

-    I loved the Gothic world that was created. I want to live in that town.

-    I didn't connect with the characters until the last little bit. Karou grew on me, and I felt so sad for her and her situation. Akiva bugs me a little. I was weirded out when he fell to his knees and cried like a baby. It really ruined his image. I feel really bad for the characters. They endured a lot, and it sucked. My heart cries for Brimstone! He is my favorite. 

-    The ending is killer! What happened? What is going to happen? AH!

-    I'm not completely on board with Karou and Akiva's relationship. I didn't like the insta-love. I feel like their whole relationship is more lust than love. I'm hoping their relationship deepens more in next book.

My Thoughts:

-    I finally finished this series!! Ugh! It was slow, but I made it!

-    The beginning is really slow, and I just wanted something. . .anything, to happen.

-    The more I read, the more I didn't like Clara.

-    I felt like Christian kept getting the shaft. Wow! He did everything for Clara, and she can't even give him the time of day.

-    The whole Tucker and Clara relationship really annoyed me! It was the classic "I can't be with you because I'm dangerous" crap! All the romance in these books annoyed me! It wasn't done very well. 

-    Angela bugged me through all 3 books, and it didn't get any better.

-    I didn't like any of the characters really. They were all so dramatic and lame.

-    The ending was going to be good, but then it wasn't. It wrapped up all nice and convenient, WAY too convenient. At first I thought the ending was going to be all dramatic and tragic, and I was excited, but then it wasn't, and I was angry. 

-    I'm kinda sad I wasted time on this series. Why did I finish?

My Thoughts:

-    The love-triangle really takes over the story in this book. Ugh! I'm so done with Tucker and Christian! Clara is starting to annoy me as well.

-    The relationship between Clara and her mom is frustrating. They are supposed to be close, but Clara's mom doesn't want to tell her anything about what she is! I don't understand why she hides so much.

-    I want more about the "purposes" in the story. I wish the book focused more on that. It seems like the visions that Clara gets are more fortune telling than an idea of what direction to go in life. 

-    The ending is sad, but the reader is prepared for it.

-    I liked meeting all the new characters, especially Clara's dad. I want to know more about him.

-    I'm debating on whether I want to finish the series or not. The romance is getting tiresome. I think I'll finish the last book though.

My Thoughts:

-    This book was alright. I'm not a paranormal romance fan, but this one was okayish.

-    I liked the angel lore and everything. I like the wings and glory and all that. It was interesting.

-    My biggest grief with the story is that the romance takes over! I wish the book had been more about Clara finding out who and what she is, and her discovering her purpose. I wanted the the romance to be a side thing and not the main thing. I also want more about these black wings.

-    This book starts a love-triangle. UGH! I can handle some love-triangles, but I wasn't a fan of this one.

-    I really liked the setting. I live by big mountains too, and the setting felt very much like home. It was nice. 

-    Despite the overbearing romance, I'm going to continue the series. I'm really curious to find out what happens.

My Thoughts:

-    Why did it take me so long to read this!? This was a hauntingly brilliant story!

-    I loved the characters! They were all so intriguing, and I just want to know more and more about each one, especially the boys.

-    I'm still a little confused with some things. I'm still digesting this.

-    It takes a little bit to get things rolling, but the story kept slowly building up to something great! The ending is awesome! Wow!

-    My mind was blown after Gansey and Blue visit the old church. 

-    I loved the friendship between Gansey, Ronan, Noah, and Adam. It is one of my favorite aspects of the book.

-    I can't wait to read The Dream Thieves!

My Thoughts:

-    This is a good read for the Halloween season!

-    I liked the whole post vampire apocalypse concept. 

-    Some of the chapters were flashbacks or back story on other characters. It was a little confusing. It took a couple paragraphs to figure out what and who I was reading about.

-    This is a pretty violent book. I wouldn't recommend it for younger teens.

-    I don't know what to think of Tana. She was kind of unpredictable. I didn't know what she was going to do next. Her actions didn't seem to coincide with her motives. 

-    I didn't like Aiden for the moment I met him. What a loser!

-    I don't know how I feel about Gavriel. There were times when I didn't like him, but then there were times when he was awesome.

-    There wasn't really much of a plot. It was just about this girl in a vampire filled world trying to figure things out after a horrific event. I wanted more out of the story. The 'villain" didn't even appear til the end.

-    Overall, I liked this book, but it left a few things to be desired.

House of Ivy and Sorrow

My Thoughts:

-    I really liked how the magic worked. It would be so hard to give something in return for a spell. I cringed at some of the things Jo sacrificed. 

-    This book made me feel like I need to keep a better journal.

-    Jo was a nice character, but I didn't really connect with her. I didn't really connect with any of the characters. They were likable enough; I just didn't feel any emotion towards them.

-    I wish there had been more about Winn and his family's story. Winn's family could probably get their own book. 

-    This was a fun book, but I don't know what else to say about it. It was good. I liked it.

My Thoughts:

-    This was a wonderful well thought out story! Loved it! 

-    It was killing me that Addison couldn't remember Trevor, and that Trevor didn't know Addison at all!

-    I wasn't a fan of the alternating perspectives at first, but it really grew on me. I liked reading from Laila's point of view. I did get confused about which one I was reading a couple times though.

-    My thoughts and feelings about different things changed so much with all the reveals! It was crazy! The intricate story blew me away. I didn't see anything coming! It was great!

-    I loved the characters! Laila and Addison are the type of girls I want as friends! Trevor is so amazing and charming. I liked Conner a lot too. He was all mysterious and brooding but really nice.

-    Duke was so annoying! He sort of redeems himself, but for most of the book I just wanted him to take a hike! 

-    I totally loved the ending! I wanted to do a happy dance! I especially wanted to jump for joy when (Spoiler Alert:  Conner heals Trevor's arm!! That was so awesome! I almost cried. It was super nice of Conner to do that for an almost stranger and Norm.)

-    I'm excited to read more books by this author!

Blindsided

My Thoughts:

-    My covers don't match now!! Grrrr! 

-    This wasn't as good as the first book, but I still liked it.

-    There was a lot of drama between Fiona and Seth. It bugged me. Why couldn't they just talk to each other and hash stuff out?

-    I really liked the addition of Spud. She was awesome! Korean's rock!

-    I could understand Fiona's desire to become visible. It would be hard to not know what you looked like. 

-    I didn't understand some things in the end. The military people ended up being good but not? How did everything get resolved from one person going down? I didn't feel like the ending was complete. There were so many people involved and a lot going on, and I wanted a bigger climax. 

-    I liked everyone's powers. I wouldn't want to be invisible, but it would be cool to fly. I also liked that some of the abilities aren't as awesome as I thought they would be. There are disadvantages too. 

-    I didn't like that Fiona kinda distanced herself from the Pack and her boyfriend. It was frustrating at times. Her friends are so awesome, and she should have asked for their help a lot sooner. 

-    While there were some things I didn't enjoy about the story, I'm still attached to these characters, and it was fun to see them again!

My Thoughts:

-    I like parallel universe stories. I think it is a cool concept. 

-    This book reminded me of Sliding Doors with Gwyneth Paltrow. There were a lot of similarities.

-    I liked how the chapters alternated the different lives. It was easy to keep track of everything.

-    I liked how learning something in one alternate life made me see new things in the opposing life. 

-    I liked the characters, especially Trevor. I didn't like the jock from the beginning. He was obviously a player and a user. 

-    Addison and Trevor's first kiss was hot! It was a romantic scene I could gush over, and that doesn't happen too often.

-    The different mind powers were cool. I like the variety and different uses. 

-    The ending is killer! I can't wait to read the next book!

-    Overall, I really liked this story! I'm sorry it took me so long to read it. 

The Rising

My Thoughts:

-    I felt like most things got wrapped up, but I was a bit disappointed.

-    I really didn't need all the recap at the beginning. It was a bit annoying, and slowed down the beginning.

-    A lot of the book was telling instead of showing, and I wanted more showing. 

-    I knew there was a love triangle!! Urgh! I really hoped that Daniel was more of a brother figure, but no! I didn't like how the love interests were settled. 

-    There were a lot of characters introduced, and it was a bit confusing. 

-    I wasn't expecting things to go down so smoothly.

-    I liked Ash. He was a fun addition to the gang. 

-    Overall, I just feel like not a lot changed. There wasn't really any progress. The characters end up in almost the exact same situation they started with.

My Thoughts:

-    I enjoyed this one a little more than the first book. There were still some slow parts, but overall, it was more entertaining.

-    I got a couple answers to some questions, but not a lot. I want more info! The third book better deliver or I'm going to be frustrated!

-    I think Maya is growing as a character. Traveling through the forest with her friends has taught her a few things, and I hope her character continues to grow and develop.

-    I love how much Maya's dog is involved in the story and with Maya's safety! I wish more books would incorporate an animal. I love Maya's relationship with her dog. I'm so jealous!

-    Daniel is a natural leader. He knows how to keep everyone together and how to lead. I really like that about him. He seems too perfect though, and I feel like he is keeping something from Maya.

-    Is there a love triangle? I'm still unsure, but I think there is. I hope it doesn't develop into one, but I pretty sure it is going to happen. Ugh!

-    RAFE!!!! 

-    Another killer cliffhanger!! Dang! I'm so glad I have the next book! I hate awful cliffhangers! 

-    To be honest, not a lot happened to move the story along. The characters traveled through the forest for most of it, and the story did progress, but I don't feel like it progressed enough. I hope the last book can give all the answers and tie everything up.

The Gathering

My Thoughts:

-    I don't understand how the title connects with the story.

-    There was a lot of description about the town and the surrounding area in the beginning, and it was kinda boring. 

-    I almost quit reading, but there was enough there for me to keep going. I wanted to see if the story would get better, and it did. Most of the beginning is setup, but towards the end, things pick up a bit. 

-    I really like Rafe. I don't know why yet, but I like him. For some reason I kept picturing him as Bender from The Breakfast Club. 

-    Maya wasn't a strong female lead. She seemed kinda dull. I really want more depth to her character. I kinda wanted more depth to a lot of the characters.

-    There is a lot of mystery surrounding this little town and it's residents. I think a lot of the characters have secrets, and Maya isn't the only one trying to figure out who and what she is. 

-    The writing was easy to read, and things seemed to flow ok. I did get confused on who was saying what a couple times. 

-    The ending is a killer cliffhanger! I didn't feel like this was a complete book. It was missing a whole lot! I have a lot of questions, and not enough answers!

-    I'm really glad this trilogy is complete, so I don't have to wait to find out what the heck is going on. Hopefully the next books keep up the momentum with the story. I don't want another slow beginning.

And when someone begins to terrorizing Mia with twisted death threats, Parker's memory blackouts leave him doubting his own innocence.

My Thoughts:

-    I loved the whole concept and everything about this book, but I really wish it had gone in a different direction.

-    How did Parker get his curse? Living in someone's dream really intrigued me, and I wanted the story to focus more on Parker's curse. How does it work? Is there a cure? I really wanted Parker to try to figure it out more with the help of his friends. I hope the next book focuses more on that.

-    Parker turned into a real creep really fast. His addiction to Mia was more important to him than self preservation. The author must have done some good research on addiction/dependency cause she really captured it. 

-    I thought this book would be scarier, but it was more creepy than scary. I hope that made sense. I was more creeped out, like stalker and weird people creeped out than scared. There were definitely some thrilling moments, but nothing that gave me nightmares or kept me up at night. 

-    Speaking of creepy, there were some disturbing things in this book. It has some tough subjects. 

-    I thought this book was ok, but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I'm a little disappointed. Mostly because I wanted the story to focus on the curse and less about stalking Mia.
