Top Ten Books Too Good
To Review Properly

I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggles to write reviews for books that are phenomenal. It is hard when a book is SO good, but you can't describe why. Books that are disappointments are easier to write about.

I was able to dig up some old reviews on some of the books. I promise my reviews are not accurate on how I feel about these books.

  1. I read The Chronical of Prydain years ago. That a great series.

    1. Yes, it is a series from my youth. My brother loved Lloyd Alexander, and he passed that on to me. The series is very sentimental to me.

  2. I will have to see if I agree with The Book Thief when I finally read it!

    1. It is one of the best books I've ever read! I hope you enjoy it.

  3. Good picks. I agree with The Book Thief, Anxious People, and Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man. The only one that made my list this week was Anxious People, though.

  4. Oh the Hobbit. That would be kinda tough to review.

    1. Right!? My brother read The Hobbit to me when I was younger, and I have a major attachment to it that I can't describe.

  5. Some books are really hard to write about! I think that's why I started writing haiku reviews instead. ;D

  6. We have some of the same on our lists! I almost put Illuminae but when I read my review I thought... dang... not bad... lol!

    1. I should go back and read mine. I feel like there are no words to describe the adventure and style of the book.

  7. I really need to get to Anxious People. I've heard it's so good.

  8. It's unusual for me not to have ANY words about a book. My problem is that I just never seem to have the RIGHT ones to describe exactly how I feel. I often end up writing a string of adjectives in an effort to say all the things. LOL.

    Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

    1. Me too! I can think of some words, but I feel like they are inadequate.

  9. I agree with so many of these, The Book Thief, The Hobbit, A.J. Fikry! Happy reading. My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/books-too-good-to-review-properly/

  10. Sometimes all I want to write is "read it now." I loved The Book Thief and The Hobbit was so much fun. I loved Zevin's book too. I haven't read the others although Illuminae and Anxious People are both on my TBR. This is a great list, Kami. I'll have to check out the titles I'm not familiar with.

  11. All I ever manage for The Hobbit is "It's amazing, just read it!"

  12. Oh yes to The Hobbit and The Book Thief. I didn't even try to review those two. ;) I still need to read Illuminae and Anxious People, which I just picked up! Great list!
